Hydroxycut diet pill review

Hydroxycut is a dietary supplement sold as a weight loss product, fat burner and energy enhancer. The manufacturer is Muscletech Research and Technology in Canada and the exact formula is proprietary.

Hydroxycut ingredients

Calcium, Chromium, Potassium, Hydroxagen Plus (Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre Extract, Soy Phospholipids, Rhodiola Rosea Extract, Withania Somnifera Extract Root, Hydroxy Tea, Green Tea Extract, Supplying Polyphenols Catechins Epigallocatechin Gallate, Caffeine Anhydrous, White Tea Extract, Oolong Tea Extract).

Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) also known as garcinia camboga, thought to be known to inhibit the enzyme citrate lyase, which converts carbohydrates into fats.

Chromium is associated with stabilizing blood sugar, thereby reducing craving for sweets.

Glucomannan is a dietary fiber which contributes to feeling of fullness.

Guarana extract contains high level of caffeine, thought to increase energy.

Hydroxycut side effects

A number of side effects have been reported by Hydroxycut users:

Rapid heartbeat, sleep disorders, poor concentration, nausea, headache, fatigue, muscle pain etc.

There have been more serious side effects reported to the FDA, ranging from jaundice to liver damage. Other health problems reported include seizures, cardiovascular disorders, kidney failure and muscle damage.

Please note: on 3 May 2009 FDA issued a warning for all Hydroxycut users to immediately stop using Hydroxycut supplements due to high risks to health, particularly dangers to the liver.

Important precautions

Since Hydroxycut supplements are non-prescription, they do not carry doctor’s endorsement or require monitoring by a health care professional. These products are not for everyone and their use can cause serious health problems.

If you do decide to take Hydroxycut, you should have a physical by a licensed physician. This usually includes blood work and EKG. Do not exceed recommended dosage. Report all adverse side effects to your primary care provider.
